When I was presented with this topic I knew I wanted to do down thing a bit challenging. I decided to do a still life of a photograph that I had taken the weekend prior to the project.
After studying this picture a bit more carefully I realized that I would need I apply my prior knowledge of shading and the new techniques for proportion we had just learned.
This was my rough draft for the project. In doing this rough draft I saw that making the hair look like it was in a braid was going to be harder than I thought. I also noticed the picture was misisn something, a pop of color.
This is my final, and I think it turned out well. I noticed that the proportions were well done and the shading really made it come to life. The extra pop of color from the tie dye shirts really made it all come together. Overall, the proportions, shading, and use of colored pencils for color were what made this drawing what it is.
